Not me! I'm just collecting them in one place so that they're easier to browse through. Every video is hosted elsewhere, and every picture links back to the original, so you should easily be able to click through and find the artist/editor. That's one reason I don't post fullsized images, as it treads a little too closely to art theft for my comfort.
If you do find one that isn't linked, please let me know!
What's With All the Supershort Videos?
- They're practice runs, previews and experiments that were never completed]
- They're deliberately short because they're matching a specific section of a song
- They're a small part of a MEP (Multi Editor Video) project, in which different people create short excerpts, each featuring different characters, to be put together later. Some of the more popular characters have a lot of these, so they may not be all be here.
Who Are All These Characters?
Random characters from films and television. Many are from different shows entirely. They're just female characters that people thought might make a good pairing.
There are some pairings that, while technically not lesbian/bisexual in canon, are just generally assumed to be together. Xena and Gabrielle, Harley and Ivy, Elphaba and Galinda, Utena and Anthy, Myka and Helena ... simply using these pairings (or well known songs and imagery associated with them) is often enough to make something femslash.
It seems to be mostly Disney...
For now. For now.
A lot of this content has been moved/copied/re-organised from the main Disney Femslash page, which just got too big for me to edit, and other similar pages will follow (I thought it would be a short article, but it's swiftly becoming an infinite googolplex). This is also to avoid the whole 'but so and so isn't Disney!' wails. I don't care about them being Disney! So yes, you'll see Anastasia, Pocahontas, Eris and anyone else, with blatant disregard for source material. But it can take a lot of time to put each list together. I have to do a lot of searching and a lot of watching everything, just to make sure it actually fits. I'll get around to other pairings eventually.
Why Femslash?
Why not?
There are a lot of good characters out there, but it can be very, very boring seeing them all paired up with princes. Even if a straightforward straight relationship appeals, some of these characters work very well together, and it can be fun looking at all the different combinations.
There's also the potential offered by removing one gender. Heterosexual pairings have so many underlying gender dynamics and roles that override the characters themselves, that it can be pretty awesome to just... wipe those away. For example, is he rescuing her because he's strong and smart and outgoing? Or because he's the guy and has been cast as the prince and that's what he's supposed to do?

But also, there are hardly any genuinely lesbian characters. If you want to see a spunky redhead mermaid fall in love with a sword wielding Chinese girl, your only option is to take Ariel and Mulan and push them together. There just aren't enough real lesbian (or bisexual, or bicurious) characters to go around. So if we want them, we have to make our own.
(The same also applies to slash - guy/guy pairings. It's just not the focus of this site!)
Is this safe for work?

Short answer, yes.
Long answer ... your work lets you watch YouTube videos? I'm jealous.
But seriously, the videos all use footage from the original films, which were all mostly family friendly. There's some NSFW stuff out there, but not that much, and I won't be adding it to the site. There will be PG-13 stuff (kissing, implied sex/sexual contact) and some of the fan art gets downright R rated, so be careful if you go wandering through to other sites.
What Video Editors Did People Use to Make These?
Most of the people who made the videos here used:
- Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 Suite (for Windows Vista / 7 / 8/ XP)
- Final Cut Express 4 (for Mac, PowerMac, Mac OS X)
